about the author

Hello, Meet Janice Feenstra

Janice Feenstra is a registered nurse, who has spent her career working with adults and seniors. Her career primarily focused upon helping seniors in their own homes where one learns the most about patients and their environments.

Through her experiences with the elderly, Janice found that a holistic approach was missing in the way patients managed their home environments and how they approached safety, nutrition, hydration and exercise.

Janice found that effective interventions encompasses all of these areas and healthy, active lifestyles could be achieved through an integrated approach empowering seniors to improve their strength and endurance thereby preventing falls and helping to extend and enhance their quality of life.

It’s not about the years lived, it’s about the quality of life of any number of years lived!

Janice L. Feenstra Shows Why Tracking Small Wins Can Keep Seniors Moving

A fitness routine can be working even when the mirror does not show a dramatic change. That is easy to forget.

For older adults, progress may appear in quieter ways. A chair feels easier to rise from. A walk feels steadier. A set of exercises takes less effort. A stronger band becomes manageable. Balance improves enough that a movement no longer feels intimidating.
